Minecraft block switcher thing (light switch)

This post will tell you how to make a block switcher in Minecraft with pistons, basically it will remove a block from a wall, and replace it with another block. This can be used with glowstone to make an effective light that you can turn on and off.

First you'll need to start with 2 normal pistons and one sticky piston, spaced out like this.

Planes mod, possibly more complicated than real life

This morning I installed the planes mod. A mod that adds craftable, rideable planes into Minecraft. (Available here)

Before I attempted the complicated process of creating a plane, I built a huge, probably over sized runway to launch from.

When I say complicated process, I mean it. You have to make loads of different parts, then a special plane crafting table and only then can you combine them to make the plane. This is probably more complicated than building a real one!

How to build a piston trapdoor

This tutorial will tell you how to create a piston trapdoor so that you can drop people and mobs into dungeons, lava pools, rooms full of sheep or any other evil things you can think of.

Sheep are too annoying. Everywhere I go they walk around, making sheep noises, getting in my way.

Today I decided to go out and gather some dye's so I could carpet my house , and on the way I see this!

A huge group of sheep walking past, hundreds of them. I didn't know what was going on, was there a fair on or something? Anyway, after struggling to get through this entanglement of wool and faces, I continue what I set out for and return home with many dye's. Only to find something worse.

Create a raising piston bridge

This tutorial will tell you how to build a hidden bridge in Minecraft, which can be raised or lowered to allow you to successfully cross lava and water. It can be used to build a drawbridge across a moat, or to trick cows to stand on it before lowering them into the lava! That was a bit mean, sorry cows.

404 Challenge from the experience of Minecraft pig

The 404 challenge is a challenge in Minecraft created by Neoxx. You start a world in Minecraft with the seed '404'. The world has a giant sinkhole which the challenge revolves around.

You must use the first day to collect as many resources as you can, because by nightfall you have to venture into the dreaded sinkhole and survive there! If surviving underground seems too easy, you also have to play on Normal or Hard mode. Oh, and you aren't allowed to use torches! Being rather brave myself I decided I was ready to accept this challenge, however, each attempt I was met with the same gruesome fate...


The day would start off pretty well. I would find the sinkhole, have a quick nap, annoy a few cows, then realize I'd been wasting my time and go and gather resources fast!

Let's ignore the fact you can see pork here, and pretend I am not a cannibal pig!

How to build a hidden lava entrance

Always looking for ways to hide my cake, I have built a new secret entrance, and I will share it with you. As long as you stay away from my cake! The secret entrance is well hidden and probably not going to be found, who's foolish enough to jump into a stream of lava!?

My (very short) journey to the end of the world.

I awoke like any other day, just a small pig in a large Minecraft world, but this day was different. Instead of my usual day of TNT-ing things into oblivion, I decided I would set myself a quest. A quest to reach the end of the world! I was mostly trying to get away from this flood.

 

The first thought I had was "which way do I go?". It's a big world and I don't want to get lost. Luckily I found this mountain to climb, maybe I could see the end of the world from up here.

Nope, I see nothing from up here.

I saw nothing. After 3 seconds of thought I decided to cross the ocean but with no boat in sight, I had to make do with a squid.

XOR Gates. How and why?

An XOR gate is a logic gate that takes 2 inputs, that can be ON or OFF and outputs ON only if the inputs are different, so if one input is ON and the other is OFF.

Now you may be wondering "why would I need an XOR gate anyway?". Well an XOR gate let's you turn a circuit on and off from 2 different places.

Here the 2 pistons can be extended or brought back in from either of the 2 levers.

Experimenting with single player commands.

'Single player commands' is a mod that adds commands to the single player game. The list of commands you can use is very long, but my favourite ones are the ability to fly, spawn mobs anywhere, and ride any mob. You can even ride a creeper if you can get to it, but they don't take kindly to being ridden and will still explode.

I can fly and spawn pigs at the same time!

Never again will you be trapped in a dark cave, hiding from an evil creeper, without a pig by your side to keep company.

Create a hidden passage underneath stairs.

There are a lot of secret passages and entrances you can make in Minecraft using pistons, here I will tell you how to create a hidden entrance underneath a stairway. Like the image below.

Unlimited cake! TooManyItems mod.

The TooManyItems mod is a cool mod for Minecraft that lets you choose multiple items or blocks to put into your inventory. It allows  you to save and load different inventories, put items into the trash that you don't want, so you don't need to leave them all over the floor, and it even works with items added through other mods.

The mod works in both single player and multiplayer modes, and is useful for when you are planning a big build. Also if you think this is cheating too much, you can turn the mod on and off by using the 'O' key in the inventory.

The lazy pig method of house building

Usually I'm too lazy, or too busy being harassed by a creeper to build a house, so I invented the 'lazy pig method' of house building, named for the fact that I am a lazy pig. You can build a house with little effort at all and luckily for all you lazy people, I have included instructions.

Step 1: Dig a hole, the bigger it is, the bigger your house will be!

 

Redstone circuits that turn off in the reverse order they turn on

Here I will tell you how to create multiple redstone circuits, that when turned on activate in a particular order, and when turned off, each circuit will turn off in the reverse order it was turned on. If you are wondering what I mean here is a picture!

Crazy 3D Printer In Minecraft

Some crazy guy has created a fully working 8x8x12 block 3D printer in Minecraft, I don't know how, and it must have taken ages. But it's awesome! Watch the video to see for yourself.
